So, I’m in the midst of re-organizing and redoing my room. For years my room has been primarily purple, black, and mess. Seriously, stuff crammed everywhere there was a spot.
As part of my christmas, we’re redoing it… my main inspiration is this Jim Henson poster. Chase gave me that poster for my birthday, and my aunt had it framed for me. So, I’m doing a pale, natural green – sort of around a C6EACD, if you want to look at that. I’d change the font colour but I don’t feel like changing it back. ha. And then black & white/light grey – black works since all of my existing furniture is black, and while we’re getting rid of a few pieces (one of my big shelves, my desk), I want the new furniture to also be black so it matches the old stuff. White/grey just as accents.
I’m taking down all my posters… I know, right!! I’ve always had a ton of posters up in my room. I’m keeping up The Accolade, and probably get two of my Star Wars posters, and at least one of my Mucha posters framed to put up. Everything else is coming down. Or, rather, moving to the wall in my closet. Speaking of which, I completely cleaned out the shelf in my closet, almost EVERYTHING in there went into boxes and into the attic. Right now it’s full of stuff from my room – my books, toys and knick knacks that I want to keep out in my room, but just need to have out of the way for painting.
So far I’ve cleared off all my shelves, my desk, the top of my entertainment center and the top of my dresser. My dresser still has clothes in it, and my entertainment center still has videos, cds, and of course my tv and stereo stuff still in it.
Tonight’s goal:
Finish getting the clothes stuffed in the drawers of the dresser so they’re out of the way.
Put the stuffed animals in a box until I get the net up to put up my favourite ones
Take down Han and put him in the closet (he’s staying in my room)
Get all my electronic stuff – game systems, camera stuff – into a box and put in the computer room for now
Get CDs into a box and into the computer room
Get jedi costume/dorothy parts into the costume closet
Clear off the floor… pick up all the little things and figure out what to do with them
Get all that stuff to the attic… right now most of its sitting on the landing.
