2005 Year in Review!

I ran across my original 2005 costume list on the Jedi Council boards, did I get it all done?

I said I’d do:

My Queen Amidala parade dress from Star Wars Episode I. I made this in 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Padme ep 1 Parade gown
Done! Besides the Princesses, this was my biggest project of the year, and the one I worked on longest. I’m still quite proud of it

-Qui-Gon Jinn for my father
Done! It wasn’t perfect, far from it, but everyone recognized him as Qui-Gon. I love the robe, and have adopted it as my Slave Leia robe.

My Mara Jade costume from April 2005.Taken at Celebration 3 in 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Mara Jade
Done! I didn’t think I’d care so much about this costume, but I love wearing it, and I’m in the process of re-doing the legs for wearing it even more next year.

My Yuuko costume from May 2005.This pic is from A-Kon 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Yuuko from XXXholic
Done! Well, mostly. It was a pain in the ass to make, and it’s still not really finished, but I did like how it looked. I’m going to finish it for MTAC this year.

-Sailorjupiter from Pretty Guardian Sailormoon
Dropped. I dropped it mostly because the fabric I ordered ended up being unavailable – and couldn’t find anything else I liked. At the moment I have no plans to pursue it…

-Magik from The New Mutants
Dropped. It would have been too much work that I didn’t have time for – and armour work on that. I’d still like to do it, but I have another big armour costume for this year so I doubt I’ll ever do it… although… while writing this I had a change of heart… hm… maybe for Dragoncon, lol.

My Starfire (Teen Titans) costume from July 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Starfire from Teen Titans
Done! I adored wearing this. It was easy to make, and I got to be orange. LOL. My favourite part was the way kids reacted… but then, that’s the best part of any costume!

-Yzma from the Emperor’s New Groove
Dropped. This was dropped because of the Dragoncon disney group – we didn’t want to out-Disney ourselves. I still think it would be hilarious to do.

-Polychrome from Road to Oz
Half done. I almost had her done for Dragoncon, but had to stop due to problems with my serger… I didn’t have time to worry with it while trying to get the Princesses done. So one weekend I’ll suppose I’ll sit down and finish it, and probably wear it to Comic Con or Dragoncon.

My Arwen costume from Lord of the Rings. I made this in 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Arwen’s Blood Red dress
Done! I was so pleased with how it came out. It’s so pretty to wear…

-Mephistopheles from Goethe’s Faust
Bought materials. I ALMOST got it going for Halloween, but decided to stop so I could give it the time it deserved. I’m going to finish it over the summer, to wear at Dragoncon.

-Guinevere from King Arthur
Dropped. I never actually saw the movie… lol. I still think it’s a pretty dress, but I have other things I want to work on…

And what did I add to my list?

My rebel uniform Leia costume from 2005.Photo taken at Dragoncon 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Leia’s Rebel Uniform
My “other” Dragoncon project besides the princesses!

My Princess Leia costume from July 2005.As seen at SDCC 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Leia’s Metal Bikini
The costume I said I’d never do! But I did and I loved it!

My last minute version of Princess Leia's ceremonial dress, from October 2005. This was a last minute version for Halloween that year.I completely remade this in 2007 - you can see the newer version here.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Ceremonial Leia
Just a really quick version for Halloween when I realized I wasn’t going to be able to dig into Mephistopheles.

And finally…

My Belle (ballgown) costume from September 2005.This was the original, non-upgraded version that I wore to Dragoncon in 2005.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

-Disney Group
A big Disney group for Dragoncon!! This took up most of my summer and is the reason a lot of other stuff got dropped. Totally worth it!
