when i asked for movie recs

Like, over 2 years ago, I asked for movie suggestions. I just recently joined Netflix, and was looking for movies to add to my queue, and remembered this list! So I figured I’d update it now, marking out things I’ve seen, now. Strikes I’ve seen by now, italics I have in my netflix queue already.

Please, anyone who actually still reads my blog, feel free to add any movie recommendations to me!

Amelie, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, The Adventures of Baron van Munchausen, Smokey the Bandit, Dead men don’t wear Plaid, Fight Club, Six String Samurai, Waking Life, Interview with a Vampire, Se7en, Citizen Kane, Potemkin Battleship, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Apocalypse Now, Amadeus, Metropolis, The Lost Boys, Donnie Darko, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Gasaraki, Mr. Show, Real Genius, Mansfield Park, True Lies, Irma La Douche, Dark City, Desperado, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Frighteners, Cecil B. Demented, Crumb, Mulholland Drive, The Man who wasnt there, The Bad Seed, Ghost World, Sense and Sensibility.

I’m going to see everything on that list eventually – it’s my new year’s resolution.

GOD I’ve got to get back to work on my paper!

‘Shaolin Soccer’, a hysterical Cantonese movie about ninja soccer players that rocks my socks 😀 I also really loved ‘Together,’ another Chinese movie, though that one is sentimental and touching. (my friend and I see every chinese movie that comes to the arthouse theatre; don’t ask, we’re weird)
Also, ‘Spirited Away,’ if you haven’t already seen it.

Surprisingly, I really liked ‘Chronicles of Riddick’ lol, since the rest of it was so cool even if Vin Diesel was way too weird.

Oh gosh! I remember posting Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid for this. ^^ I still reccomend it.

Along with Bubbah Ho Tep (Elvis and mummies. How much cooler can you get?) and Josie and the Pussycats (ultimate feel good movie. ^^; )

Moose – I just saw Bubba Ho Tep just like, 2 weeks ago! Seriously, the combo of Elvis and mummies is killer.
And I admit it, Josie and the Pussycats is one of my guilty pleasure 😀
Dana – I’ll have to add Shaolin Soccer, I’ve heard good things about it, sounds like my kind of movie!
I love Spirited Away, I’ve GOT to get it on DVD.
Claudia – ah, just waiting on the next ice age. 😉 I know, I know, I’ve got to see it…
