man, if there’s one thing I like about my new laptop, it’s that I opted for the card reader. I can take a pic with my old digital camera and then just stick the memory card in and there it is! yay! so much easier than it used to be…
my point: I just tried this Mehron 3-D gel on my arm, since I’m going to be using for Padme tomorrow and hadn’t even tried it out yet (thought that might be a good idea before I have to put it on tomorrow morning and then drive while wearing it!)
It’s so awesome! I guess a lot of costumers who mess with this kinda stuff would be kinda “eh” about it, but I’ve never tried special fx makeup before. Lookie:
It’s 3d so it sticks up, and it’s completely dry. I’ve been wearing it all afternoon now and it’s held up really well. I’m going to wear it tonight and freak my friends out!
Anyway, I am packing a little suitcase with 4 of my costumes in it to take to the hotel with me tomorrow for midsouthcon. Even though I live in the same city, it’s still a good 45-minute drive from my house to the hotel, so if I wanted to change it would take a while. So I’m just taking a couple of costumes I might want to wear other than Padme with me tomorrow, just in case I want to change in the bathroom, or at my aunt’s house (which is a little closer!)
I do plan on entering the masq… I offered my Arwen up for a LOTR skit but haven’t heard anything else about it, so if I don’t hear anything tonight or tomorrow, I’ll wear either Rainbow dress Padme or Wedding Arwen (probably Padme, easier to wear)
