when i was kawaii

I had a convention dream last night for the first time in ages… got to katsucon on thursday, spent the night, and in the morning got up to put on tohru and it wasn’t finished. I was so upset I was shaking!

I don’t know what brought that on. I haven’t had con dreams like that in a long time, plus have over a month to finish just TWO costumes, which is no problem, since, like, last year for katsucon I made five costumes in the same amount of time.
btw, if you’re a member of my sketchjournal, I posted something there yesterday that I really wanted some feedback on and thus far haven’t gotten any – I’m still unsure as to whether or not I’m satisfied with it and I’m wondering what others think.

I tried to read The Silmarillion several years ago but only got a few pages into it. I picked it up again the other day and am slugging my way through it – much slower than I would a ‘normal’ book, but I’m really enjoying it this time and find it hard to put down.

Just now I was reminded of something that happened at katsu that I’d forgotten about. I had just put on Belldandy for the very first time ever (at a con) and was standing in the lobby by the check-in desk waiting on my grandmother. A group of Japanese women (airline stewardesses I think, they were all matching) were checking in and they saw me and said “Belldandy! Belldandy!” with their Japanese accents and “Kawaii!”

It was so cute. I’d forgotten about it. It reminded me of the time a Japanese lady came up to me at AX when I was in She-Ra… ahhh that was such a sweet lady! I wanted to bring her home with me to be my gramma šŸ™‚

This entry ended up being a lot longer than it was supposed to. I need to go to work now…
