I’m not caught up on Andor; we are currently on I’m not caught up on Andor; we are currently on episode 6 - we will get caught up this weekend! I love how this show fleshes out the character of Mon Mothma. Here’s my Rogue One Mon Mothma from a few years ago. I’d love to do an Andor Mon costume one day, they are so much more stylish than her rebellion robes!
Another recent project - a Disneybound outfit insp Another recent project - a Disneybound outfit inspired by Padme’s picnic gown!

I spotted this yellow floral chiffon dress on the clearance rack at Kohls a few years ago. I bought it for a potential Disneybound, but didn’t do anything with it for a long time!

I did remember it and thought about fixing it up to take on our January trip this year - but glad I didn’t, it would been too cold! (I did my Post Senate Amidala Disneybound instead). But it did stay on my mind as something I needed to get moving on.

I had surgery at the end of Feb and after a couple of days my brain was excited to work on things, but my body wasn’t ready to hunch over a sewing machine yet! So I thought this is a great time to work on the picnic Disneybound, it’s just a little crafting, no hunching over the sewing machine for hours! So I got it out and got to work.

I made a little green velvet belt for the dress and sewed some rosettes on to mimic the look of her headband. It snaps on in the back. I made the actual headband too, and sewed it and the hair buns onto a plain black headband so it’s all one unit I can easily take off and on as needed. I bought the snoods online and stuffed them with some loose wig hair.

I wanted to do a simplified version of the capelet because I wasn’t sure I actually wanted the cape or not, so I didn’t want to put a lot of time into it to not wear it. I dyed a floral curtain panel yellow, and cut out a big U shape. I did have to monkey with the shape a bit - I’m not totally happy with it but it’s fine. I added some green trim made from some leftover fabric and added snaps at the front and back so I can take it off and on if I don’t feel like wearing it.

I did think about adding Minnie ears to the headband unit… but I’m going to wait on that. I have plenty of scraps from the curtain to make them in the future.

I’ll have a bigger write up on this (and Troi) in my blog soon because even tho I don’t have pics of me in them yet… I dunno when I’m wearing these so I better write my notes before I forget everything that went into them!
Current project updates! I’m almost done with Current project updates!

I’m almost done with Deanna Troi from Star Trek TNG. It’s wearable anyway - though, I haven’t tried it on since finishing it and that’s one thing I still need to do 😹 (I just haven’t felt like it!) I do have a few small things to tweak on the dress but I’m waiting to see if there’s anything that I notice during the try-on so I can do everything at once.

My leggings are done, my headband for the wig is done - but I do still need to style the wig. And paint the shoes. I was going to try to have all that before this past weekend, but decided to wait and not rush it. She’ll debut at dragoncon in a few months.
I love looking back in my blog to see what costume I love looking back in my blog to see what costume I was working on 5, 10, 20 years ago. It is truly like time traveling, reading my old posts puts me right back in the headset I was in back then, and when I finish reading it’s like I have to reorient myself.

Also, I didn’t have a pic yet for doing a slide for this year (it would’ve been Troi but I have no pics of me in it yet!), so I did last year.
Happy Revenge of the 5th! Of course if I’m gonn Happy Revenge of the 5th!
Of course if I’m gonna do a Leia collection video there has to be a matching Padme costume video 😹

This video includes:
Padme’s ROTS veranda dressing gown from 2020
Padme’s ROTS “Liberty Dies” final senate appearance gown from 2021
Padme’s AOTC packing gown from 2022
Queen Amidala’s TPM parade dress from 2005
Padme’s AOTC lake gown from 2019 (5th version)
Queen Amidala’s TPM post senate gown from 2018
Padme’s ROTS funeral gown from 2007

Not included here:
My AOTC Tatooine arrival gown from last year - haven’t filmed it yet!
The ROTS mustafar outfit from 2006 and the AOTC battle suit from 2004. I sold them to remake them and still never have.
Clone Wars Ilum Padme from 2008, it’s missing parts.
My 2004 concept gown and 2003 AOTC loyalist committee dress don’t fit anymore.
And I sometimes include my 2006 AOTC Corde in these collections, but I didn’t here.
May the 4th be with you! Here’s a selection of May the 4th be with you!

TFA Blue Dress from 2017

TLJ Crait Gown from 2018

I’m missing a few from this video just because I never recorded a video like this of those particular costumes - Lothal/Rebels look, Marvel Comics Cape outfit, Endor/Rebel briefing room, and honeymoon suite. Also left out all of my “fun” Leias like my Disneybounds, doll costumes, and variants like medieval.

One of these days I’ll finish the collection. Still need to do the TFA jumpsuit, and the ROS dress and force ghost.
This time last year I was out doing a photoshoot o This time last year I was out doing a photoshoot of my Breha Organa costume with @chasingphotography for May the 4th!
Crazy to think 2020 was five years ago. Five years Crazy to think 2020 was five years ago. Five years ago I was first tinkering around with remaking my ceremonial Princess Leia dress for the 3rd time. I used @jeneyrecosplay ‘s pattern and I love how it turned out!

I was half thinking last night I may have to dig this out for an event Sunday - I got senatorial Leia out and discovered a black stain right on the front! I have no idea where that would’ve come from. I was thinking, I may have to do a different Leia this weekend! After some stain remover and an oxy clean bath it came out though, along with some other small stains and makeup spots. But ceremonial is always on standby…
10 years ago we did an event with the Jackson Gene 10 years ago we did an event with the Jackson Generals for May the 4th, and I threw Kevin into my dads Jedi costume for the day. He loved playing Jedi! I think this was the last time I used my real hair for this Queen Amidala parade dress style. It was a pain and took forever to do and always looked messy. Glad I made the hairpiece not long after this.
We did not get to do dapper day this year but I’ We did not get to do dapper day this year but I’ve loved seeing all the photos and videos from folks. Here’s my Dapper Day Dale outfit from a few years ago. I made the hat, shirt, skirt and bag (and my husbands Chip jacket!)

We decided to do a January trip this year so we could do festival of the arts. We had terrible weather the whole week… we knew we were gambling with January but boy did we lose all our chips on that bet 😹😹 Never again! I’ll take sweating in the spring over shivering in the winter any day.
Saw Revenge of the Sith this past weekend. It was Saw Revenge of the Sith this past weekend. It was fun to see on the big screen again - especially seeing Padme’s costumes on the big screen again! Here’s my ROTS Padme costume collection - sadly I don’t have mustafar anymore, I sold it a few years ago and I regret it. I think about remaking it often. I also think about remaking my funeral dress. But if I were going to make a new ROTS costume, I think it’d be the purple/burgundy Revelations gown or the green velvet robe.
I’ve been on an Evangelion kick lately. My Misat I’ve been on an Evangelion kick lately. My Misato here was a remake of the first Misato costume I did in 2002 - sadly that one was made of pleather and it’s a peeling mess now. So in 2019 I made a new Misato to replace it. It was kind of a last minute project, I decided 2 weeks before Anime Blues Con I wanted to do this 😹 I generally don’t make costumes that fast anymore! But despite the tight turnaround time, I love how it turned out.
Construction Rewind: my Taylor Swift Lavender Haze Construction Rewind: my Taylor Swift Lavender Haze costume!

I made this for dragoncon last year - and the jacket has worked its way into my everyday winter jacket rotation (which was actually my sneaky plan all along! 😹)
Construction Rewind - my Padme Veranda nightgown! Construction Rewind - my Padme Veranda nightgown!

Technically I count this as a 2020 costume, but its origins go way further back than that. So I thought this would be a fun one to cover on my construction rewind series.
Construction rewind: my Tinkerbell costume! I ma Construction rewind: my Tinkerbell costume!

I made this back in 2018 and it was such a fun project and still one of my favs.
Another oldie, my Dark Phoenix costume at dragonco Another oldie, my Dark Phoenix costume at dragoncon 2004. This pic was taken by darkwhispi.

I didn’t mean for this to turn into a row of Marriott ML column pics 😹 I posted the first one and was like hmmm how many do I have like that? 😹 I’m gonna throw a couple more into my story.
Oh look another Marriott column pic from 20 years Oh look another Marriott column pic from 20 years ago.

My Huttslayer Leia costume at dragoncon 2005.
I really wonder how many photos I have of myself i I really wonder how many photos I have of myself in front of these columns in the Marriott at dragoncon.

Slightly offtopic from the photo but I’m excited to have my Deanna Troi costume nearly finished and ready to join Dr Crusher in my costume lineup. Really hoping I can have her ready enough to go to a con here in 2 weeks!
And another follow up to my last 2 posts - the mov And another follow up to my last 2 posts - the movie canon collection from my Padme/Queen Amidala art project from a few years ago.

This section was the first portion I did and I’d actually love to redo some of these because I hadn’t quite figured out what I wanted to do at the start. In addition, I was trying to replicate the poses of the Padme pieces from an earlier art project of mine (2010) which I didn’t always love and felt like it kinda stymied me. You can read more about the whole background of this project and see them all at my blog.
Part 2 from yesterday’s post - here’s the Clon Part 2 from yesterday’s post - here’s the Clone Wars portion of my Padme/Queen Amidala project. Again this was an art project I did in 2017-2018 that was essentially a costume study. I wanted to mentally play around with how I would actually make these as physical costumes.

Since my clone Wars segment here was a little shorter than the concept Padme video, I threw in screenshots of the actual clone wars outfit each was based on.

(Also threw in the comic book Sabé I did at the very end of the project!)
