    Rogue shoe tutorial… kinda

I took these pics when I was making my Rogue boots back in 2006 and never posted them. I honestly would do it a little differently now – but I figured I should post them anyway! My Starfire boots were the exact same base boots, just a slightly different boot cover (I wasn’t happy with the Starfire boot covers so…

A Collection of New Photoshoot Pics

I’m sorry I haven’t posted much lately. We’ve been busy packing and dealing with house stuff (keep your fingers crossed) that writing in the blog is not something I’ve been thinking of! In the meantime here’s my more recent white backdrop photoshoot pics.

    Dragoncon 2006 wrap-up: everything else

All the non-new costumes, and how the held up. I wore classic Leia friday morning at the RL table. That was fun! I had planned on doing that last year, but ended up wearing the metal bikini instead. Got pics with PsychoShinji… yay! I missed her when she was in Robin and I was in Starfire last year. I also…

    Dragoncon 2006 Sunday pics!

Back to our regularly scheduled Dragoncon pics! Got to sleep in a little bit Sunday morning. We got up and I put on Rogue for the X-Men photoshoot, and Chase stayed in normal clothes to play photographer. I was absolutely stunned by how many people showed up for the X-Men photoshoot! Me and Kitty! This is just part of the…

    Rogue wrap up

All in all, I was very happy with how Rogue turned out! However I am planning to redo one certain element: I’m going to cut the arms and legs of the blue suit off and permanantly attach the gloves and boots. I don’t like how you can see a tint of the blue through the single layer of the boots…

    Nearly there

The X for Rogue is done. She’s packed… The Padme brooches are done (although the casting didn’t work; we’re going to try it again after the con, so I’ll be wearing the sculpey ones there) and packed. Lake dress is not done. It’ll have to go with me on the plane. Yesterday was NOT a good day. I won’t go…

    Lake dress & Mustafar updates

Danielle’s lake dress is nearly done; I spent the afternoon dying the chiffon. Interesting experience… i did it a different way and for the most part i’m pleased with the results. The only thing i was disappointed in was the blue… it faded a LOT, especially at the bottom, so when I dye mine tomorrow I may put the bottom…

Lake Dress and Rogue progress pics!

Padme Lake dress 3.0: The base dresses are put together, and dyed. Haven’t hemmed or put the snap in at the top. Doing that today. I got the chiffon overlay cut out for Danielle’s, and I’ve started edging that. Looks good so far… Tonight I’ll cut my overlay fabric fabric out and start on it. I’m hoping to dye them…

Rogue, Mustafar and Lake Padme updates!

I finished my Rogue straps, the boots and all the little straps that go around her wrists, upper arms and top of the boots! Whoohoo! All I have left to do on her is sew some velcro on the legs and top of the boots so the boots will freaking stay up. And get Chase to finish the center X…

    Mustafar Padme brooches

Well this weekend was fairly productive. My Padme Mustafar brooches are done! Well, almost, we finished the sculpey part. They look good! I’m really happy with them! I left them with Chase, he’s going to cast them in resin this week for me. Tonight going to do the straps, finally. I got new pants, since I ruined the other ones.…

    Rogue boots progress

My dress sold! Very exciting. I’ve only ever sold one of my costumes on ebay once before, and that didn’t turn out well, so I’m glad this time has gone so smoothly (and that it went for more than my buy-it-now even was! whoohoo!) I’m still at the beginning stages of my Rogue boots. I decided that while I work…

    Vader, Padme and Rogue updates

Got my Padme tunic finished – the collar looks good! I’ll try to take pics this weekend. However dying the pants did not turn out good – they turned kinda yellowish. So back to the drawing board with that. Got Chase’s Vader pants nearly finished, the elastic straps for his feet are partially put on, got the velcro put on…

    Fabric & SDCC 2006 Schedule

My main brooch for mustafar padme is almost done; I’m a bit stuck on doing the little flowers on the sculpey. Everytime I tried to just carve the shape it ends up not looking right. I got tired of thinking about it yesterday so I haven’t looked at it since. I went to the fabric store friday – got my…

    SDCC 2006 Prep

Now that COSI is behind me,  here’s what I need to focus on for Comic Con: Vader Chase has pretty much got everything done. The pants still need some tweaking, I need to hem his cape, and get the shirt started. The shirt won’t take long (at least I hope it won’t). Now that he has his shoulder armor I…
