terminal enchantment

Hey I actually have costume content to post today!!

Finished my new MoM Wanda skirt:

Version 1 spoonflower fabric to the left, version 2 knitorious fabric version to the right.
Not super happy with my gradient dyeing here but oh well, it is what it is. After seeing it on I think I need to bring the gradient at the top down further because it’s not really visible when I’m wearing it under the bodice. But got the lining sewn in, waistband on, it’s functional and matches my bodice SO much better than the spoonflower skirt.

Saturday we went to the toy show. I was the only person that I saw in costume while we were there – but hey, the toy show is turning into a proper little con, so I decided to go in costume. And to do Wanda with the new skirt so I could just come home and shoot it on the backdrop.

Didn’t take any pics there, and I didn’t buy anything, but enjoyed looking at old toys, especially the old lunchboxes. (I’m not allowed to start my lunchbox obsession again.) Chase bought a car and a christmas present for his brother.

Headed out after a while, came home, steamed my skirt before the shoot (it’d gotten pretty wrinkled sitting in the car), brushed my wig and we got Wanda shot on the backdrop! Then I switched to Rizzo and we shot that too.

I’ve got the Rizzo pics uploaded! There were only like 20 so they were quick to go through.

I haven’t gone through the Wanda pics yet.

I’m thinking next shoot will be Wednesday night – I need to get the 2 other Disneybounds (Picnic Padme and Amidala post-senate) shot so I can start doing my year-end countdown on IG. I think I may wear a wig with Picnic Padme so I don’t have to curl my hair. Even though that’s not something I would do actually wearing that bound at the parks. We’ll see.

What else…

Got the new funko lake Padme set on my Padme shelf.

Once again my Spotify wrapped was all over the place. I don’t mind being called 77 but I really don’t remember listening to my 60s playlist all that much this year? And it said my top song of the year was ONE SONG I listened to on repeat ONE DAY in early November. I didn’t listen to it much other than that, and I know 100% there are other songs I listened to a lot more. Just annoying.

I’m still playing my Sims legacy game (and still updating the blog post about it from April) and right now, we’re in the Star Wars era of the family. Anakin aged up from a kid into a teen and this was the look the game gave him.
I also did manage to have Padme have twins without any cheats. Hooray for Luke and Leia actually being twins! But she had 2 boys so I did have to cheat to make one of them a girl LOL Oh well.

We’ve learned our neighbor’s cat is named Jet and he has a loving home that he can come and go from as he pleases and a heated bed in the garage if he doesn’t want to go in the house. So I dunno why this cat acts like a sad little orphan everytime he comes to our porch. I was about to go build him a shelter with a blanket LOL He also got trapped in our garage yesterday but thankfully we noticed pretty quick and let him out. He’s the sweetest cat so I don’t mind going out and saying hi – Luna doesn’t care for that though LOL

Remember the vintage sweater I said I got in Asheville?

Here it is. I love it. The part I’m on the fence about is the applique on the front – it’s a bear holding a pizza slice and it’s ADORABLE — but I feel like it does make the sweater so much more juvenile. It looks to be just sewn on and not heat/ironed on, so I think I could remove it… but I’m going to leave it as is for now.

Also another thrift store score…

Chase went to the thrift store over his lunch break one day last week and sent me pics of these mid-century style chairs – $25 each! I made him go back that night and get them, so now I’ve got 2 chairs sitting in our kitchen. I set them up in there so I could clean them with our little green machine and let them dry out before putting them somewhere.

I’m going to put one in the place of the torn up black pleather chair in the dining room, and the other possibly in our bedroom. We have 2 chairs in our bedroom (both are laundry chairs LOL), but one was earmarked to go to Kevin’s room. Just haven’t had the energy to get it upstairs. So I may finally get that into kevin’s room and the other new chair into its place in our bedroom. Yay new laundry chair!

So Wednesday – the other 2 disneybounds, hoping this weekend to do Troi and Lorne. That’ll leave Belle and Padme lake sometime next week, and then I’ll dig into the things I want to reshoot/older costumes that I haven’t shot yet. I’m really hoping I can shoot Yuffie from 2003 because there’s pleather parts I’m worried about… but I’m not sure if the armbands and legbands will fit me anymore. Gotta get it out and see I guess.
