goodness knows

Well I would say last Monday my anxiety over the job thing was at a 5/10. On Thursday it shot up to a 10/10 and on Friday I had to ask Chase for one of his anxiety med pills. Which then made me feel hungover all day Saturday. I also had a migraine all weekend, probably from the stress – which I haven’t had a true migraine in months. Today I’m at like a 5/10 again I’d say.

I guess it just became more real on Thursday when I had to actually interview for the new team and they were talking about traveling and overtime and I just kinda realized that, while this new role is technically the same as what I do now, it’s a very different culture. I’m not in a happy place over it but trying to remind myself I will still have a job, a job I know with people I know. One day at a time.

Luna is bummed because all of our windows are blocked off to keep her from fighting with Bobbie (the stray cat with a bob tail who is territorial, comes in our backyard and starts shit). We put down some spike mats right in front of the window but that wasn’t enough, now we’ve got some scent balls coming that are supposed to deter cats.

Belle is all put back together.

Saturday we met my parents at the grand opening of a new bakery.

All the cronuts

I mostly finished Christmas decorations. I don’t have pics yet – but I did do a photoshoot with Luna in front of the tree so I’ll use that to break up the wall of text.

The living room tree is our old tree (not the twinkly) that I normally put in the dining room, but I decided to switch them this year. We did white lights only with my rainbow starburst lights mixed in. I wish I’d had a few more white lights but oh well. And I only put our silver ornaments on it. Simplicity this year. I did put the monorail up because I feel like it helps keep Luna out from under it LOL

I put the twinkly tree in the dining room this year and I’m having fun putting on a different light show for the neighborhood every night. I only put our figural star wars ornaments and a few of our other pop culture ornaments on it – didn’t put them all out.

The only things left to do are to put a bulb in my ceramic tree, get the color-changing trees out and finish putting the lights on the stair handrail. I was using the multi color lights I usually put on the old tree, but 2 of hte strands are messed up. Chase is trying to fix.

Saturday we met my parents for dinner and afterwards went to Ollie’s for cheap batteries for the decorations. They had a TON of these Dungeons and Dragons action figures that I had wanted from Target sooo bad but they were so overpriced. Now $7? Sold.

5 year old me is VERY happy, I was obsessed with Uni. I put them in the nativity, of course. Right now it’s just them and Han Solo.

Over Saturday and Sunday I added some more pink flowers to Belle.

On Sunday I did something I’ve been wanting to do – putting all 3 belle ballgowns out on the forms.
It was a little difficult. Belle Ballgown 05’s original hoopskirt doesn’t exist anymore. I’ve got 2 other options for her – one that’s too big for the skirt and isn’t really a true representation of what it looked liked in 2005, and one that’s bent out of shape, but I did use it for this one 2007-ish? So I went with that one, even though it’s bent out of shape. Had to get a little creative with pinning it on the form – this form has no shoulders so I had to pin the shoulder drape up so it looked right, and some of the gathering stitches in the skirt overlay have come out so it’s kinda uneven. I pinned it to as close as correct as I could. The whole skirt is still hanging funny, but oh well.

2012 presenting an even bigger problem because the hoopskirt it’s meant to sit on is what I use as the base of 2025. I had to get creative – I used my Padme hoopskirt and my Lucky pocket hoops under it. That was as close as I could get, but it’s not as large as it should be. And boy does that lower hoop really show through the skirt fabric, should’ve put a petticoat on it. Oh well.

So 2025 is now done (again) and ready for photoshoots.

Last order of business before photoshoots was my new Wanda skirt —

I got it dyed yesterday. Turned out ok. Next I need to line it, sew the waistband on and tatter the edges. Shouldn’t take too long, the tattering is the only part I’m not looking forward to. If it was a natural fabric, sure, but a stretch knit doesn’t naturally tatter in fun ways LOL

Only 2 days of work this week thank god because I need away from here for a while.
