staring down the barrel

Mid-week update!

Wanda:
-Rig up the Scarlet Witch pieces

I’ve gotten all of the fabric attachments made and most of them are glued on. Still have to heatform the front panel which I’m nervous about. Going to do that tonight and then hopefully tomorrow I can start sewing everything in place.

Belle:
-find shoes (just wearing my old ones)

I know where these are I just need to get in the closet and get them out. I also need to try everything on one more time. (UGH)

Lover (Padme’s Version):
-finish microphone

I started to do the microphone stuff yesterday and the bottle of black alcohol ink exploded all over me. My left arm looks like a dalmation and it got all over my white shorts and Stitch shirt I was wearing. Thankfully with some rubbing alcohol, grandma’s stain remover and a wash it all came out. Except on my arm LOL. So I said forget this, I’m just going to do it with separate beads glued on top instead of trying to colour the existing stones.

Radagast:
-finish beard
-sew yoke to robe
-paint nose

The yoke is done, I’ll sew it on tonight. I need him to give me input on cutting the wig and adding ear loops. Apparently I also need to curl the eyebrow pieces he bought too. He has a prosthetic nose he’s going to airbrushing a solid colour – we didn’t have the right colours to mix to get it exactly to his skin tone, so he’s going to do the base and I’m going to go in with some watered down acrylics to blend. He also needs to try everything on and I want to steam at least the robe before he does.

Beast:
-make tail

Chase has some other things he needs to do and he needs to do a full makeup/wig test. Biggest thing left me is he wants me to make the tail. I need him to tell me exactly what he wants so I can get it done this weekend.

Lwaxana:
-snaps and closures
-finish jewelry pieces

Mom called yesterday and said this is all she has left. She needed find a smaller chain for the jewelry piece in the front. She’s coming over today I think so I can help her mark the other snap positions and try everything on once more.

And then… I gotta pack.
Last night I realized I have not seen the lightsaber blades for Shin and Baylan in… a minute. I didn’t get them out for the photoshoot – I was just holding the hilt for that. Couldn’t remember what we packed them in. I looked high and low. No luck. THANKFULLY we have extra ones. Also just packing Shin and Baylan will be an adventure. I can’t remember all the pieces and how they go… but I told Chase, after I CRIED making these costumes last year, we are WEARING THEM AGAIN.

I’ve got the start of everything laid out in the dining room. Haven’t actually packed anything yet. Starting to get very anxious over it because I’m usually at least half packed by now – if anything is missing (like those saber blades) or messed up or I need to buy more (ie, makeup, repair, hair supplies) I need to figure out now so I have time to look for or buy stuff this weekend.

I bought new shoes for Lorne. Decided I wasn’t messing with the size 10 boats. They’ll be here today.

My anxiety is through the roof 🙁
