We went to Hancock's. Got orange and black material for the extra things on Misato's jacket. And some more lining for her jacket (we didn't get enough first time). Ash's Ritsuko wig came in the mail. I fixed up a bit. It's the cheapest quality wig I've ever worked with. But it's going to work perfectly, I think.
Yesterday Ash and her parents came over to hang out. Ash and I decided to go get mcdonald's and rent a movie instead of going out to eat with the parents, so we did. We rented A.I. (ash's choice), Rushmore (my choice) and SNK vs Capcom 2 (for kevin... and, well, yeah, me too). I had to pay a late fee from last time! urk :P Then we drove over ...
Finished Ling Xiaoyu yesterday!!!!!!! YAY! Well, ok, still have to make the ponytail holders, but that'll take no time. Got Misato's jacket just about made. We had the sleeves done and one attached... but I thought they were too fitted so we decided to remake them. I've spent the last twenty minutes ripping out the seam. I hate doing that. Anyway.
What... a long... weekend. Yesterday morning was actually kinda slow. We went and ate breakfast at this place in Millington, and all I had was toast, since the thought of any other breakfast food made me feel ill. There's a good chance I'm going to DragonCon this year. It was sort of a sudden decision between Cath and I... she can't go with us to either Animazement or Otakon, so I brought up dragoncon... it looks *really* cool, with a lot of really neat guests and events. I was thinking of costumes... right now I'm working on Xiaoyu 2p (tekken3), lulu, and misato for animazement, and urd, ocha ...
We cut the pattern for Lulu's skirt today. As soon as my credit card payment clears, I'm going to buy the red material for Misato. Once that happens, I'll be on the way with everything for Animazement except Xiaoyu. How about an update? Lulu - have grey fabric, have fur, various bits of jewelry, and a wig. Patterns for everything. Still need to get thigh-highs, lots of belts, lacey bits, ...
I said it on my livejournal the other day, but I got the faux fur coat to use for the top of Lulu. Along with fabric samples for Misato. I think I'll use the fabric, but I'm going to look around and see if I can find something like it around here that's a little cheaper first. Animazement hotel booked today!
