A surprise costume!
I've put this off because I wanted to finish everything else first and this was just extra... but here's a sneak peek at a surprise I'm working on!

Last night was Project Runway night, so I worked on my embroidery a bit, so otherwise not a lot of pics to show. I did try on my Antoinette wig: It's amazingly well balanced. Didn't need a single bobbie pin to keep it on my head. Of course I'll put some bobbie pins in when I wear it at dcon, just in case, but it's not bad. Not too heavy; ...
less than 2 weeks now... The wig is done. I wanted to curl the leftover sections a bit more than they are, but everytime I tried on my test piece, the curling iron just straightened it! LOL I could have kept trying, probably, but decided to leave well enough alone. I'd like to add a few more pearls if possible but it depends on time. And I'm going to give ...
I'm finally happy with this thing! Here it is with the main wig sewn onto the base, starting to cover the base... I wanted the curls on top to be much less structured than the base look was... a little wilder, so they're just lightly pinned in place, they'll move around a bit. All that's left is to curl the pieces I left down, and decorate...
So here's some more on the Antoinette wig saga. In my last update post, I posted a pic of it and said I wasn't happy, ripped it all apart and cut down the foam insert. Honestly, besides feeling it was a tad taller than I wanted, I'd also gotten the wig cap too small. It was hard to fit on my head and I didn't want to have to wrestle ...
Here's a few pics I took of stuff I was working on fri-sat. Trying on Lady Blackhawk. My hat is huge! LOL. I will always have that problem because I have a tiny head. Hippolyta embroidery. It's not perfect, but it's going to show up a LOT better than the original drawn on lines. It's a pain and taking longer than I expected, because I'm having to go through the ...
Some "real" pics finally. They still just don't show how sparkley it is. All I have left to do is finish attaching the hook & eyes along the front (finished them once, but switching them out to black), and to finish my wig, which is giving me fits right now because I'm not sure what exactly I want to do anymore.
(I've edited this post since finishing the wig so I have the full build process in one post!) So here's my fumbling around with wigs. I really hate styling wigs - I wish I'd had it in my budget to buy a really fantastic custom piece off etsy or something, but, well, obviously I didn't! So here's what I did. This is the wig I started out with. A cheap $20 ...
Finally uploaded some pics from my phone. Here's the dress as it was last week, I think it was: I had the lower sleeves and stomacher just pinned on there - I've since gotten them sewn in and, well, it's pretty much done. Once I try it on I might find something that needs to be tweaked, so I'm calling it 99% at this point. I'll put it back on the ...
I need to break out the real camera and take some pics to post. My blog is awful bland with no pics. I've been working on "Pink Barf" - got the suit picked apart and cut the legs off. Got new front pieces cut. I had to go back and re-dye them because the chunk of leftover material I dyed didn't get in there long enough. I finished my shoes, ...
