More Adventurecon 2008 Pics

Ok, here’s the rest of the adcon pics!

Friday was a looooooooong drive. Even though we left earlier than we planned, it stormed really hard during the drive, and then we were stuck in standstill traffic for at least an hour about halfway there. We finally got there around 8 that night, got checked and our stuff up to the room, and got some late dinner and crashed.

Saturday the convention center didn’t open til 10, so we didn’t have to be up super early. We got up and got dressed – I put Kevin in Luke, and I put on Poison Ivy – and we headed over and got our badges and shopped a bit. We had lunch in the dealer’s room, and then headed back over to the hotel to get Chase into Vader for the 501st pic.

I already posted my Poison Ivy pics, so I’ll skip those, of course.

Little He-Man! This was my favourite costume at the con. How cute is he??

I changed into slave Leia for a few minutes, I didn’t stay in it long.

We went and changed real quick, I put on Giselle, and realised I was running late for the RL meeting so we scurried out of there.

Giselle ended up being really comfortable. I was really happy with the dress, for the most part. Like I said previously the shoulder wrap piece will be replaced since it was sort-of last minute and I didn’t have time to tweak it or anything (basically cut it out friday morning and tacked it on as it was), and I need to permanently attach the ribbon.

I didn’t get to stay in it, long, because I had to run change for the costume contest.
We only took a handful of pics during the contest, here’s one of me I found on myspace:

Won a judge’s prize – actually one of my favourite things I’ve ever won in a costume contest – it was an action figure set of the Simpsons’ Tree House of Horror “The Raven” episode. Quoth the raven, “EAT MY SHORTS”

Chase went back to the dealer’s room to buy a few last minute things, while Kevin and I ran back over to the hotel and I changed into my Rogue movie uniform. Then we ran back over and met back up with Chase. He’d found my animated Han Solo statue and gotten it for me, yay! 😀

Then the con was closing down, so we went and put on normal clothes and went and had dinner in downtown Knoxville. And then we discovered they were having “Bark in the Park after Dark” right nearby, so we went over there and had ice cream and saw all kinds of awesome dogs. Unfortunately I didn’t take my camera! 🙁

Sunday we were up and out, since we had to have the rental car back by 7.

So that’s it. Now back to unpacking and organizing the work room.
