We did this pretty cool technique in class today. We drew the figure (oh, and we had a brand new model! yay! I was tired of drawing the same 2 people!) with regular old crayons. We could only use 3 colours (I used yellow, green and purple)… to fill in the figure we had to use the methods we’d been taught all semester so far – cross contour, massing, sideslant, blah blah blah. I think mine looked pretty cool by this point, so I was a little wary of what I had to do next. I had to put down an inkwash over the crayon drawing (which was big, 22×30)… it still managed to look cool. The wax of the crayon repels the inkwash. Then I went in with pen and ink once it was dry to bring the details back out. I was pretty pleased with the end results (everybody’s ended up looking pretty neat) but the teacher wasn’t all that happy… apparently we all didn’t do what we were supposed to. He never told me I was doing anything wrong during the whole 6 hours of class, so I think mine is fine. *makes face*
Hey, maybe after the semester is over and I don’t need this pic anymore, I can put it on ebay. The girl’s got purple hair in my pic (only 3 colours, so I had the choice of yellow, purple or green for hair… green went to the background and yellow to the body, so purple hair….), so I maybe I could say it’s Misato. LMAO
