All right, pardon me but I gotta spill a little cosplay talk into Whisky. Not because I want to annoy you, no, it’s because I need your opinion!
The costumes I’m planning for next year… er, THIS year are:
Rally Vincent (mostly done, will be won when bored at AZ),
Misato’s NERV uniform (for MidSouthCon in march)
She-Ra (MidSouthcon in march)
Lulu (Animazement in May)
Faye Valentine (Animazement)
Xianhua (Animazement)
movie version Urd (Otakon)
Now, I want to make at LEAST one other costume for Otakon. I’d like to do two, but I don’t know if I’ll have the time or resources. Plus, I don’t know if I’ll do Xianhua (I’m pretty sure I’m misspelling her name… oh well.)
Now, this is where you come in! I want to go ahead and figure these things out so I can start planning. Everything is always subject to change, but I hate leaving things undecided. I’m going to go through the series or games I’m interested in and pick the characters I’d like to do, and the new poll will have the choices (plus a write in space if you’ve got a suggestion ~ just remember these are anime cons!)
The options…
1. Trigun: Prospect: Girl Version of Trigun Maximum-era Vash – If I do this, I can get out of wearing my Milly costume when Ash wears her Meryl at Otakon (because she’s already said she wants me to, and Milly is just not all that interesting to wear!).
2. CardCaptor Sakura: Most of Sakura’s outfits don’t appeal to me in the cosplay sense because I don’t like to wear dresses. There is one prospect: her Green Fairy Dress. I love this dress, the green and yellow together and the cute wings. And the wing could be done with too much hassle out of fabric.
3. King of Fighters: Blue Mary. She’s cool. But the outfit isn’t all that interesting…
4. Final Fantasy: Prospect: Edea… I would love to do but… I dunno, that’s not something I want to wear in the dead of summer and have to travel with that frame thing.
5. Slayers: Prospect: Lina Inverse. I love Lina, I’d love to make a Lina costume, but it’s a LOT of pieces to make.
6. Urusei Yatsura: Prospect: LUM! I love Lum, she is so cute. Bad thing, it’s a skimpy costume. But then, look at my Urd costume…
7. Saber Marionette J: Prospect: Bloodberry. At one point Cath, Ash and I were going to go as the 3 girls, but I don’t think either of them want to do it. A lone bloodberry wouldn’t be much fun.
8. Sailormoon: Aluminum Siren… she’s so funny, and I love her colour scheme. Ash might be talked into going as Iron Mouse in her pinstripe suit.
9. SunDowner: Even though I feel odd dressing as my own characters, I’d love to do a full Ocha cosplay. Challenging, yeah, but fun.
(with no current prospects are Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, Kamikaze Kaitou jeanne, Rival Schools, Ayashi no Ceres, Saint Tail, Evangelion, Ranma 1/2, Sorcerer Hunters, Street Fighter, Fushigi Yuugi… ah, I guess that’s it.)
