I’m trying to clean my room, because Chase is gonna be here this weekend and my room is a disaster area and I know he doesn’t want to sleep in the middle of my laundry. But, I’m just so zapped from work today, it’s hard to do anything… my eyes are hurting a lot the past couple of days, and I think it’s from having to use dad’s monitor on his computer tuesday and wednesday while mine was at the shop. Right now I think most of the eye-hurting is just from being overly tired.
This past weekend was good; drove up friday night – went to old navy because I was having a clothes crisis and suddenly hated all my shorts and had to have a couple of new pairs. Saturday we went to the prop party at corey’s and I finished the embroidery for mustafar padme. Watched everybody else work on stuff, and watched the birthing of a couple of new Indiana Jones fertility idols.
Sunday we went and saw Cars, which was cute, and then went swimming. nice day, except for my computer kicking the bucket that night (see my LJ for details)
Monday I had to get up early when Chase left for work so I could drive down to Camden and pick up Kevin from my grandparents and take him to camp.
I got to his camp around 9… and nobody was around. We went inside and one of the counselors came up and said drop off wasn’t until NOON!! So I got him there 3 hours early. However the counselor was very nice and said I could go ahead and leave Kev’s papers with him and he’d get him checked in once they got everything set up. So that was good.
I got back to nashville around noon. With my computer still on the fritz, I had nothing to do. I thought of trying to go somewhere, like barnes and noble, and just sitting and reading, but I thought I’d get lost. Chase doesn’t have cable… so I wasn’t up for another day of watching court shows hour after hour, so I went to sleep. And I slept. And slept. And slept. I think I needed it, I was still getting over that crud. I finally got up and gave in and got on Chase’s old mac, and surfed around on that until he got home. Then we went and ate at the cheesecake factory (yum), and then I thought, I slept all day, I’m never going to get to sleep tonight, but I did, and I slept good. LOL. Driving back Tuesday morning was the first time coming back from nashville I haven’t had trouble keeping my eyes open.
And I needed that this week! I havent had Kevin there since he’s been at camp, and my other coworker is on vacation… it has been SO HARD trying to get everything out the door… and to think I used to do all of this by myself, everyday. Of course back then we only had maybe, on a busy day, 40 something packages go out. Now we routinely have over 100. I can’t keep up without a helper or two. I wouldn’t have gotten it done today if Bec hadn’t come over and helped while I dealt with paperwork.
The most frustrating thing in the world to me is when an order isn’t ready until RIGHT before FedEx gets there to pickup. Today was the worst scenario – this one didn’t come across until 10 minutes til FedEx pickup, so I had to rush to get it packed. It wouldn’t have been such a big deal, but he was one that had all kinds of extra junk. All of that stuff doesn’t fit in one box very easily! It was a rush. I know it’s not anybody’s fault, it’s just frustrating, and I’m just venting, and I know it’s not interesting to anybody because whose work stories are interesting anyway..
ok I just wasted ten minutes writing this.
