We’re back!
I got sunburnt, my feet and legs got ridiculously swollen by the 3rd day, it was either really cold or really hot, and I came back with a head cold – it was fabulous.
The best part was sharing it all with my parents. We had great meals, I got to do Dapper Day, met a ton of characters, rode the rides and saw the new parade (3 times!)
We did:
-Big Thunder Mountain
-Enchanted Tales with Belle (mom was the Wardrobe! Chase was a Knight!)
-Haunted Mansion
-Jungle Cruise
-The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
-Mickey’s Philharmagic
-Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
-Pirates
-Space Mountain
-Swiss Family Treehouse
-People Mover
-Little Mermaid Ride
-WDW Railroad
-Living with the Land
-Maelstrom
-Test Track
-Soarin
-The Seas
-Star Tours
-The Backlot Tour (Mom was one of the actors in Harbor Attack!)
-Toy Story Midway Mania
-Tower of Terror
-One Man’s Dream
We ate at:
-Biergarten
-Le Cellier
-1900 Park Fare
-Be Our Guest (lunch)
-Liberty Tree Tavern
-Tutto Italia
-Akershus (dinner)
-Columbia Harbor House
-Rose & Crown
We met:
-Mickey
-Pluto
-Donald
-Belle (2.5 times – the 1/2 counts as Chase getting his pic with her at Enchanted Tales)
-Snow White (twice)
-Cinderella (twice)
-Sleeping Beauty (twice)
-Ariel (twice)
-Tiana
-Rapunzel
-Anna & Elsa
-Phineas and Ferb
-Mike and Sulley
-Tink and Vidia
-Peter Pan and Wendy
-Fairy Godmother
-Mary Poppins (twice)
-Alice
-The Mad Hatter
-Pooh
-Tigger
-Dug and Russell
Was that it? I’m not sure. I think so. The only characters I wanted to meet but didn’t get to were Cinderella’s step-family. Next year!
The only one we waited a long time for was Anna and Elsa. We did Epcot on an EMH morning and did a quick walk to Norway and still had a 2 hour wait (an hour of that was waiting on their 9am start time). The people at the end of the line had a 5-6 hour wait. Glad to see they’re moving them to Princess Fairytale Hall so there’s a FP+ option – though not sure why they’re not leaving a pair in Epcot as well to help with the crowds.
The new parade was awesome. We skipped watching it the first day because we knew it’d be crazy – and dad still wasn’t feeling well and had stayed at the hotel (he started feeling bad Saturday), so we didn’t want to leave him out. For Monday, we had FP+ for it which was awesome, we were right in the center facing the castle and the Malificent dragon shot fire right in front of us! We saw it again thursday in a not-so-great spot, and then again on friday from a nice vantage point on the train station balcony.
I wore my Haunted Manson skirt for Dapper Day – I actually kinda rebuilt the whole thing because I wasn’t all that happy with the gathering, so I took it up a bit and pleated it instead. It was so neat to be at the park and see so many people dressed up all cute.
I’ll post a few more pics and a day-by-day thing pretty soon, before I start to forget. Might start typing it up now, but I’d like to get Chase’s pics first.
OH! And I forgot to mention – our stay at Bay Lake Tower ended a night earlier than we were leaving, so we’d booked a nearby Marriott for Friday night. Thursday we realized it would be a whole lot easier to stay on property, so we cancelled the Marriott and booked a room at Art of Animation (a Little Mermaid room!). It ended up being well worth the slightly higher cost, since they transferred our luggage for us and we never had to worry about getting a taxi over – just caught the shuttles. And it was neat to see another resort.
Anyway – pics soon!
