I did it

I looked over my budget. Found I’d gotten about $25 in overtime on my paycheck yesterday. Plus $30 for a couple of alterations. That was close enough. I pulled the trigger and bought new fabric. I just wasn’t ever going to be happy with it like this — and I figured out another use for the already dyed panels I’ll be taking off – I’m going to try to go ahead and dye them completely rust-red and see if I can use them as the lining for my Bespin Leia instead of the cheap poly chiffon I had laying around. So if that works — that’ll be PERFECT. I think it will – it’s plenty of fabric and it’s long enough, just need to get it cleaned up and try to get it solidly dyed. If it’s spotty it won’t be too noticeable as the lining.

The bottom line though; if I didn’t redo this part, I simply wasn’t going to be happy with it. And then what was the point of all the work on the neckline and the expense of the wig? I need to be happy with it at the end of the day.

Anyway, I’m typing out a to-do list here so I don’t forget:

Tonight:
Gloves & Shoes
Finish cleaning up hem of my rebel shirt for the trip
clean the office

Tomorrow Morning:
Finish up the sleeves
Remove dress piece from the yoke, clean it up

Sunday:
Finish closure on yoke/neck piece
Weather sleeves/gloves/yoke
Make leotard

Monday:
Hopefully my fabric will come. If it hasn’t, I need to start on mom’s birthday present!

Tuesday:
My fabric should be here by now. Cut panels, pleat, get reattached to the yoke, hem, have HELP DYEING IT THIS TIME.
