I was supposed to work on the shoulder pieces last night but I didn’t. Instead I came home and sewed all the skirt panels together, gathered it (just as a test, I’ll probably have to re-gather it later), and then got all of the skirt poof panels cut and sewn together (well, mostly, I still have two more in the back to add)
I was just really excited to see how it was going to look.
With the big light on:
Big light off:
I do still wish I’d gotten more organza to line it in, and maybe just like 3-4 more yards of the gold, but despite that I’m still pretty pleased with how it’s coming. The photos don’t really show just how sparkly that gold mesh is, it’s going to look great under stage lighting and in motion. And the thinness of it gives it a very floaty, dreamy feel.
Tonight: put the shoulder pieces together, get the other two panels on the mesh, get the panels gathered at the seams…
I’m on target to have it finished by Sunday. Knock on wood!
