The installer was at the house all day yesterday and got the hallway nearly done, the kitchen and living room nearly done!
Here’s the hallway around noon yesterday. He still has to go back and do a small strip along the left side of the wall, the area in front of bedroom door and the entryway. Then the quarter round everywhere.
Here’s the living room. It looks really dark in this picture:
And the kitchen. This is probably the most accurate shot that shows the colour of the flooring:
I’ve always hated the lights in our house and now with this new floor, it’s a reason to get new stuff! Especially in the hallway where we have these awful ugly light fixtures, and in the living room where we have one tiny, dull yellow-ish light from our (non-working) ceiling fan.
And I got some work done on my dress!
I did not like where that seam on the underdress was falling right at the waist – it was very ugly and obvious once the chiffon was over the top. So I took the bodice off, cut it down to turn it into an empire waist. It makes the underdress a bit shorter in the front, but I’m ok with that. Now that seam will be hidden under the chestpiece when I make it.
I got the chiffon outer-dress stitched in place – ready for lining now, then I’ll get the zipper installed and start hemming. I’m hoping I maybe have enough chiffon for the sleeves. My mom went out to another Hancocks this past weekend and they had NO chiffon either. Ugh. Last option is one of the fabric stores in Jackson when we go up there in 2 weeks.
Also I finished cleaning up Amidala! Well, I didn’t quite get around to the undercape, but I got the worst of the stuff off. It could still use a soak but it’s not as needed now. The lower petals are all cleaned up – you should have seen the bowl of water I was rinsing in! It was gross!
Now I just want to fix a couple of things on my tiara and it’s wear-able.
