I checked the weather last week and this weekend was supposed to be fine, but we woke up Sunday morning to a very overcast sky and impending thunderstorms. I got dressed and we tried to get down to the location before the bottom fell out, but by the time we got there it was already raining pretty good. There was no waiting on it to pass either – it stormed ALL DAY and it’s still raining today.
I was really really disappointed. š If only I hadn’t slept in we could have gotten down there before the rain!
But, to make up for it, we did a white backdrop shoot with not just my Belle ballgown, but my other Belle costumes as well – the blue dress, the Something There dress, and the library dress!
Here’s a preview.
If I’m going to take Belle to Momocon, I’ve got to restyle the wig. Mostly it needs washed – the lower, non-styled part has a weird stiff, tangled feeling to it and it’s not at all like how it was even just at Dragoncon last year. I’m not sure what’s happened to it. So I’m going to wash that out, and then redo the bangs because I think they’ve gotten a little squished.
In other news, I bought some fabric this weekend – I got my sash fabric for Meg. It’s a little darker than I wanted but I like the weight of it and it looks pretty with my other fabrics.
I also made a decision on a Dragoncon costume due to find a good fabric for one I was up in the air on. I was either going to do another Marie Antoinette or another Anne Boleyn. I found a fabric I liked for Anne. My Marie Antoinette costume wasn’t based on anything (other than a dream I had), whereas my Anne costume is based on one from Anne of the Thousand Days. Also my hair is long and straight enough right now that I won’t have to wear a wig for Anne. Yay!
I need to order some more of the fabric though, they only had 6 yards and it’s only 45″ wide. I still have gift cards from Christmas though…. yay.
