Padme Lake Dress updates

Haven’t gotten to do much this week, thanks to wedding meetings and whatnot.
I’m really hoping to get a lot done this weekend. Here’s some pics of what I have gotten done since last time.

This is the Sleeping Beauty dress I'm working on - it's based on the Disney park versions which occasionally have her in a lavender dress. I got the bodice basically put together tonight, still needs a lot more work, but it's a start. The skirt I also made tonight, it needs a waistband, zipper and hemming. The yellow piece is my mockup for the pointed extension of the bodice. It needs a little more work, but I'm happy to have gotten so much done on it today. (ignore the fact it needs a good ironing, haven't gotten to that yet, either!)

Sleeping Beauty – purple/lavender version. Basically, both of these fabrics are things I had leftover and wanted to use and get out of the way. I couldn’t decide what to use them for, I finally decided to go with a lavender version of Aurora, somewhat inspired by the Disneyland dresses, which sometime show up in lavender šŸ™‚
This is what I got done during the Super Bowl. LOL. I got the skirt basically put together – it needs an ironing, badly, I need to put the waistband in and hem it. The bodice still needs tweaking, I think it’s still a little too long, and I still need to sew the channels in for the boning.
The yellow fabric was my mockup for the bodice extension. (leftover Hufflepuff fabric!) It also needs some tweaking still, but I’m please with the progress I made in one evening.
I’m planning on selling this once it’s done; Chase is making a crown and necklace to go with it.

The fifth Lake dress is coming along. Monday night I started adding the satin edging. First time I’ve ever done that! LOL. I’ve never been a big fan of how it looked on the original, so I’ve always left it off – but I’m liking it a whole lot on this one right now. I got it about halfway done – I had to stop because I haven’t finished the back yet. I’ve still got to sew the back center train piece onto the side sleeve wing pieces (it’s just pinned on, so it’s a little wonky at the moment, I was just putting it on there to see how everything was going so far), and get the bottom cut correctly (right now it’s at a “sort-of” spot until I get to it). Then I can finish the edging, and it can all be dyed, and attached to the underdress. So there’s not much else to do! Chase is making a new necklace and armbands to go with it; I’m hoping to have this up for sale by the end of the month.
In the pics above, the frontview’s colours are closer, the backview is very washed out. It’s a nice off-white.
I’m very pleased with how it’s coming out. I’m tempted to remake mine, again, but not anytime soon.
