The Good and the Bad

The Good:
Put down payment on the honeymoon!!
Paid off our ceremony and reception site!!
Had a cookout tonight!
Chase got me a Boushh doll! šŸ˜€

The Bad:
Can’t use miles my aunt and uncle were giving us for the honeymoon!
Haven’t felt like sewing at all the past two days!
Spent three hours looking for a decent swimsuit. Every dang store in the mall, Old Navy, Sports Authority and Target. Everything is other full-coverage, granny style, or barely-there strings and triangles. I want something cute that I might get SOMETHING of a tan in, but I don’t want the damn top flying off the minute I want to do a cannonball in the pool. SERIOUSLY WTF. I was SO frustrated. Why is there nothing middle of the ground??? I’m going to have to freaking MAKE my own swimsuits for the honeymoon next year.

And lastly… sadly…
Groucho, my laptop, may have finally kicked the bucket. I’m back in the computer room posting from my dad’s computer. It was acting fine today, outside of the usual “Scratch Disks are full ZOMG!!!!!!” antics while I was in photoshop. It was running on battery while Ash was here, because we were looking at C4 pics over on the couch, and then I forgot and it ran out of battery and shut down. I went to start it up again a few minutes later… it asked to start in Safe Mode, I said fine, and then… blue screen of death. It’s “Unmountable Boot Volume” – which apparently means I need to reinstall windows. I have no idea what all this means. Chase seems to think it’s all fine, we just need to figure out a way to reinstall (since my CD drive doesn’t work), but dad thinks it sounds bad and that I probably lost everything. It wouldn’t be at HORRIBLE loss – I have everything backed up on the external harddrive, with the exception of the Dan Wallace signing pictures (but those are still on the camera, just have to DL them again), some artwork just from the past two or three days (which is really frustrating, I was really liking how it was turning out)… but worst of all I realised, all of my emails. I save all my emails from friends and family, in addition to EVERYTHING I’ve ordered, paid for, hotel info for traveling, etc. The worst? I’ve saved most of the emails Chase has sent since the beginning of our relationship. Almost all of them. So if my computer is kaput? I’ll have lost all of those, which makes me really sad.

Like I said I have no clue what “unmountable boot volume” means. It doesn’t sound good to me. Maybe somebody out there can tell me. We’re going to take it to PC Doctor tuesday, but after all the crap this stupid computer has given me, I’m about ready to call it quits. I mean, right now, besides the stupid “unmountable boot volume”? The fans don’t work. The CD drive doesn’t work. The memory card reader is broken. The place where you plug in the power cord is shot – I had to get that stupid port replicator just so I could have a place to plug it in. The battery is messed up – only goes for about 20 minutes on battery power.
It just really sucks that it would go NOW — I was hoping it would hold out til after the wedding.
