Saw Death to Smoochie yesterday. I’m glad Catherine didn’t go see it with us, she would have been permanently scarred from seeing Robin Williams cuss.
Easter today was fun. Mema got me those shoes with the roller skates in them. I can’t skate like I used to, I discovered.
We played a game. Everybody picked an egg with a number written on it and then we each got to go in order and pick one of the mystery presents. They ended up being silly things like play-doh or water balloons and funny toothbrushes and things. And when it was your turn, you had the choice of taking something someone had already gotten, or picking a new one. Of course, right before me, Na opened the one that had a twenty dollar bill in it. I decided not to take hers, as I knew whoever had the last number would get the 20 anyway, so I just picked one and got something better than a twenty……….. silly string!!!!!! (also a clifford the big red dog toothbrush!) David got some silly string too, and we got shooed out of the house with it.
The consequences of a two-minute silly string battle in the driveway is thirty minutes of picking it all up.
After my cousins left it was just me, Na, Kristie and my grandparents (and my parents, of course), and we got to talking about my rollerskates… it made me think of my 11th birthday party, so we had to get the tape down and watch it. It was really funny, I was the only person there who could skate. Seeing Catherine, Rachel, Ashley and David and everybody hitting the floor was so funny. And seeing all my old elementary school friends was neat, too. That was the party where David fell and pulled his mom, my aunt, down, breaking her arm. We didn’t get that on tape, tho!
