“I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22” I was 22 when I did this first Padme lake dress. And now this costume is 22 years old itself. I did a video about it yesterday and while I was watching it back I was thinking, “dang it LOOKS 22 years old too” 😹 it’s definitely seen better days, but only because it was so well loved 🥰 I’ll share the video here tomorrow.

The other 2005 costume I want to remake is my rebe The other 2005 costume I want to remake is my rebel uniform Leia. This costume did get an upgrade in 2007 when I added the Endor elements, but I’ve been wanting to remake it for yeaaars. For real I’ve had fabric since like 2019? But I just keep putting it off because it doesn’t sound fun 😹 I don’t have anything else to work on right now, maybe I’ll actually make myself start on at least the pants sometime soon…
Another costume from 2005 that I would like to rem Another costume from 2005 that I would like to remake (but it’s not happening in the next year 😹) is my Mara Jade costume. For a while I thought this pleather suit was going to survive ok - In the 2010s as I watched all of my other early 2000s pleather costume pieces fall apart, this one seemed to always be holding up ok. Chalked it up to this being a higher quality pleather. But alas time comes for all pleather and when I got this costume out for a video in 2020, it was coming off the backing in large chunks. I haven’t looked at it since, it’s wrapped in paper in storage 😬 Anyway, this is one I’ve thought about remaking several times. All of my accessories are still in good shape minus the boots, which also died. I’d love to remake the suit in a more sustainable fabric and invest in some new boots (cuz I wore those boots in my everyday life too!)
I’ve been trying to do a thing every year the pa I’ve been trying to do a thing every year the past few years, where I look back at the costumes I made 20 years ago and pick one to remake. I did Sailor Jupiter in 2000/2020, Utena in 2001/2021… I had plans for 2022 and 2023 that didn’t pan out. Didn’t pick one for this year. But there is one I’m gunning for for the 2005/2025 anniversary… I’ve been wanting to make a 3rd Belle ball gown for aaages. The 2005 version (seen here) has always been one of my favs. I made a second in 2012 and I have so many ideas for a third. I need to sit down and gather my thoughts and come up with a solid plan, then start swatching… I generally don’t like to talk about costume plans that aren’t concrete yet (aka, I’ve committed by spending money lol) but I’m hoping I can make myself stick to doing this next year by talking about it a bit 😹

Next up I either want to do Rise of Skywalker (if I can find fabric I like enough) or finally make myself do my new version of Endor.
Finally got new pics of my honeymoon Leia costume! Finally got new pics of my honeymoon Leia costume!! I only had a couple from it’s debut at HSV expo earlier this year - I’d planned to get more at dragoncon and totally spaced 😬 so I’m really glad to finally have some white backdrop shots of it.

I was really close to having it done for dragoncon, but decided to set it aside since I knew I was going to already be really hot in this at dcon and this cape fabric is a very very thick wool. That sounds miserable at dragoncon 😹 now to finish - or rather, start - Chases Baylan cape so he can have it for when we shoot these costumes together.

Throwback… Saturday? 😹 Recently I’ve been Throwback… Saturday? 😹 Recently I’ve been going back through some of my old white backdrop shoots pulling out photos for a project. There’s always pics I didn’t ever use or upload in each set, and it’s fun to go back and find pics I actually really like that I just overlooked the first time round! My 2007 Alex Ross-inspired Wonder Woman costume was one of the first we ever shot on the white backdrop in 2009 - I think she was the 3rd ever! And I discovered this one that I think may now be my fav photo from the shoot that for whatever reason in 2009 just didn’t register for me. Glad I have rediscovered it.

I made a few small tweaks to my Shin Hati costume I made a few small tweaks to my Shin Hati costume for the white backdrop shoot (restyled the wig, more weathering, finished the cape which I’ll show y’all in another post) So much happier with it now! Still got a few things I want to do, a little more weathering and fixing the gauntlet closures - I’ll be doing another backdrop shoot with this in the future, as soon as I can convince @chasingphotography to get into Baylan again!

Eras Tour Indy night one was ✨magical ✨ The Eras Tour Indy night one was ✨magical ✨ The concert was amazing, @lindenash ‘s friendship bracelet jacket and @chasingphotography ‘s jersey turned out so cute and it was so fun to get to wear my lavender haze costume from dragoncon to the actual concert! (Tho, I did switch to flats for standing for 3.5 hours). It was so surreal to actually see the show in person! I got to sing exile with Taylor Swift and 69,000 friends!! It was a once in a lifetime experience and I’m so, so grateful we were able to go.
