People don’t realise that when they direct-link images off my server, that not only will I find out (all I have to do is look at my referrers), but I can delete that pic at anytime, or….. even better……. change it!
The best one was this girl was using my cho chang adoption pic on some Singles page, with no credit to me or anything. I went and found a pic of an ugly old woman and replaced the cho pic with the woman hahahaha! It was completely gone the next day.
I’ll usually let someone using my HP adoptions w/o a link back to me slide without saying anything, UNLESS it’s direct-linked and it’s using a lot of my bandwidth. Then I’ll usually replace it with a “bandwidth thief” sign for a while. And if they counter back with “but I adopted them you big meanie!” Then I tell ’em they obviously didn’t read the rules because they were direct linking. Arrgh! people.
And a note: Telling me my site sucks over and over again in capital letters just makes me laugh. Ok.
