And now, a story I’d like to share…
We went to the fair a couple of weeks ago. It was cool, the usual thing, you know. They did have something new though – a large fishing tank where you could fish for like, five minutes. We decided to give it a try.
The water was dark blue and you couldn’t see ANYTHING. “There’s nothing in there,” says I. “It’s just a gimmick to get you to look at Ford car brochures.”
Well lo and behold, Catherine gets a bite. She starts screaming and one of the guys comes running over and takes her fishing rod. He pulls out this HUGE catfish, I mean HUGE. It was as long as my leg, I swear. They toss it out onto the ground (which is just parking lot concrete) and it’s all flopping around and everything.
The guy goes to Cath, “You wanna keep it?!”
I’m yelling, “YES!! Catherine, keep it!!”
Catherine – who is practically in tears – screams, “NO!”
So they toss it in a plastic bag and take it down to one of the food vendors, who cooked it. They said we could go down and eat it if we wanted, but everybody was grossed out. Except me. I wanted to go, but nobody else would.
I would have put it in the plastic bag and carried it around the fair with me! You know those stupid games where you win goldfish? I’d like, go up and say, “Look what *I* caught!! Hahahahahahaha!”
